Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Unwanted Affection by Paul Friedrich Meyerheim was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,799.09). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Friedrich Meyerheim achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work German Sideshow Tricks in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 147,096.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Unwanted Affection von Paul Friedrich Meyerheim im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.799,09) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Friedrich Meyerheim erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit German Sideshow Tricks im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 229.000,00 (€ 147.096,61).
