Sold at the upper estimate price
The work A Lion by Paul Friedrich Meyerheim was sold in the 19th Century European & Orientalist Art auction at Christies in London in December 2016. The auction ended at the price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,537.43), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Friedrich Meyerheim have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work German Sideshow Tricks in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 147,096.61).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit A Lion von Paul Friedrich Meyerheim wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion 19th Century European & Orientalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.537,43) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Friedrich Meyerheim auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit German Sideshow Tricks im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 229.000,00 (€ 147.096,61).
