In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting, which included the work German Feeding The Cubs by Paul Friedrich Meyerheim. The result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 36,272.25) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Friedrich Meyerheim have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work German Sideshow Tricks in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 147,096.61).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting durch, in der auch die Arbeit German Feeding The Cubs von Paul Friedrich Meyerheim zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 36.272,25) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Friedrich Meyerheim auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit German Sideshow Tricks im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 229.000,00 (€ 147.096,61).
