The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 771.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Constant Soyer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The summer garden, which sold at auction in March 2012 for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,697.33).
