Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cowboy by Pascale Marthine Tayou was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2019. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,799.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pascale Marthine Tayou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chalks and pins U, 2012 in May last year with an auction result of EUR 88,575.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cowboy von Pascale Marthine Tayou wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.799,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pascale Marthine Tayou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chalks and pins U, 2012 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 88.575,00.
