Folding fan, ink and color on paper, inscribed by the artist with a dedication, and dated guiwei, and signed Pan Jin, followed by one artist's seal; reversed by calligraphy on the reverse in standard script on gold fleck paper by Hou Jiafeng, inscribed with a dedication and signed Hou Jiafeng, with a calligrapher's seal.

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pan Jin could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale auction, the work Rooster and Hen, 1883 changed hands for USD 510.00 (€ 459.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pan Jin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ladies' Guard in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 141,600.00 (€ 17,254.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pan Jin konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale wechselte die Arbeit Rooster and Hen, 1883 für USD 510,00 (€ 459,75) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 700,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pan Jin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ladies' Guard im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 141.600,00 (€ 17.254,91).
