Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A carriage crossing a gorge on the Via Mala by Otto Press was sold in the 19th Century European Art Including Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,589.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Otto Press have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2015 the work Gegenstücke: Landschaft bei Mühlen am Oberhalbsteiner Rhein / Die via Mala bei Thusis (Engadin) was auctioned for CHF 1,750.00 (€ 1,604.19).

Die Arbeit A carriage crossing a gorge on the Via Mala von Otto Press wurde im März 2007 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Russian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.589,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
