In February 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work Swiss dancing At Sunset by Otto Pilny. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,426.01), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otto Pilny achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Swissevening Prayers in March 2009 with an auction result of USD 326,500.00 (€ 246,210.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Swiss dancing At Sunset von Otto Pilny zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.426,01) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Otto Pilny erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Swissevening Prayers im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 326.500,00 (€ 246.210,69).
