This artwork by Otto Geleng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in January 2006. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work Taormina, Etna sold for GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,934.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Admittedly, works by Otto Geleng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of Taormina, with Mount Etna beyond in March 2000 with an auction result of USD 14,950.00 (€ 15,615.21).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Otto Geleng erzielte im Januar 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Pictures wurde die Arbeit Taormina, Etna für GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.934,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Otto Geleng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A view of Taormina, with Mount Etna beyond im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.950,00 (€ 15.615,21).
