Auction result well in line with expectations
In February this year Christies in New York held the auction European Art, which included the work Strolling in the Evening, Villa del Principe, Palazzo di Andrea Doria, Genoa by Oswald Achenbach. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,420.00 (€ 20,203.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Oswald Achenbach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Der Quirinalspalast in Rom in November last year with an auction result of EUR 126,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Strolling in the Evening, Villa del Principe, Palazzo di Andrea Doria, Genoa von Oswald Achenbach zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.420,00 (€ 20.203,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oswald Achenbach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Der Quirinalspalast in Rom im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 126.000,00.
