Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction European & British Art, which included the work Campo Santo in Poggioreale, with Vesuvius Beyond by Oswald Achenbach. The price achieved of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 17,731.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Oswald Achenbach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Der Quirinalspalast in Rom in November last year with an auction result of EUR 126,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European & British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Campo Santo in Poggioreale, with Vesuvius Beyond von Oswald Achenbach zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.120,00 (€ 17.731,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oswald Achenbach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Der Quirinalspalast in Rom im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 126.000,00.
