In December 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection, which included the work Roofs in Priluki by Oscar Rabin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 47,880.00 (€ 57,110.80), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oscar Rabin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Russian City With Moon (Socialist City), 1959, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 337,000.00 (€ 216,469.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Roofs in Priluki von Oscar Rabin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 47.880,00 (€ 57.110,80) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Oscar Rabin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Russian City With Moon (Socialist City), 1959 beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 337.000,00 (€ 216.469,68) versteigert wurde.
