Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Oscar Rabin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2021. In the Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection auction, the work Herring and Vinegar sold for GBP 81,900.00 (€ 97,689.52) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oscar Rabin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Russian City With Moon (Socialist City), 1959, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 337,000.00 (€ 216,469.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Oscar Rabin erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection wurde die Arbeit Herring and Vinegar für GBP 81.900,00 (€ 97.689,52) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Oscar Rabin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Russian City With Moon (Socialist City), 1959 beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 337.000,00 (€ 216.469,68) versteigert wurde.
