Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work "Grab a seat" by Oliver Preston for GBP 179.25 (€ 270.89). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oliver Preston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cremation Or Burial, Or Would He Prefer A Surprise? in March this year with an auction result of GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,866.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit "Grab a seat" von Oliver Preston für GBP 179,25 (€ 270,89) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oliver Preston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cremation Or Burial, Or Would He Prefer A Surprise? im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.866,99).
