This artwork by Olga de Amaral achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Alquimia XXVIII, 1985 sold for USD 187,812.50 (€ 155,306.79) - well above the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Olga de Amaral - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cesta Lunar 50A, which sold at auction in November 2018 for USD 555,000.00 (€ 490,152.79).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Olga de Amaral erzielte im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Alquimia XXVIII, 1985 für USD 187.812,50 (€ 155.306,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Olga de Amaral mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cesta Lunar 50A beobachtet, die im November 2018 für USD 555.000,00 (€ 490.152,79) versteigert wurde.
