Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Norman Wilkinson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October last year. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work The International Six Metre Race Cowes, 1921, a set of two 19.2 x 32.4cm (7 9/16 x 12 3/4in), and 16.9 x 29.6cm (6 5/8 x 11 5/8in). (2) sold for GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,079.51) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Wilkinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Canadian Pacific liner Empress of Canada lying in Hong Kong harbour in April last year with an auction result of GBP 35,580.00 (€ 42,427.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Norman Wilkinson erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Marine Sale wurde die Arbeit The International Six Metre Race Cowes, 1921, a set of two 19.2 x 32.4cm (7 9/16 x 12 3/4in), and 16.9 x 29.6cm (6 5/8 x 11 5/8in). (2) für GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.079,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Wilkinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Canadian Pacific liner Empress of Canada lying in Hong Kong harbour im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.580,00 (€ 42.427,89).
