Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction The Jan & Monique des Bouvrie Collection, which included the work Exorcist by Norman Catherine. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,375.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Catherine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fanagalo Store in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 95,867.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion The Jan & Monique des Bouvrie Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Exorcist von Norman Catherine zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.375,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Catherine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fanagalo Store im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 95.867,01).
