In April 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale, which included the work British The City Of The Caliphs by Noel Harry Leaver. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,219.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Noel Harry Leaver have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February 2000 the work An ancient Arab city was auctioned for GBP 5,520.00 (€ 9,033.04).

Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit British The City Of The Caliphs von Noel Harry Leaver zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.219,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
