Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Beneath Arabian Skies by Noel Harry Leaver was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,200.00 (€ 6,002.50). Other works by Noel Harry Leaver have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in February 2000 by the work An ancient Arab city at GBP 5,520.00 (€ 9,033.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Beneath Arabian Skies von Noel Harry Leaver im Oktober 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.200,00 (€ 6.002,50) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Noel Harry Leaver wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Februar 2000 die Arbeit An ancient Arab city mit GBP 5.520,00 (€ 9.033,04).
