Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Sommeil Ou Le Doux Reposnoël Hallé ; The Sleep Or "Le Doux Repos" ; Oil On Canvas by Noël Hallé was sold in the Tableaux et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle auction at Sothebys in Paris in June 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 53,550.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Noël Hallé - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scilurus, Roi Des Scythes, Faisant Rassembler Ses Enfants, which sold at auction in March 2014 for EUR 107,200.00.
