In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction JapaneseArt and Design Including Netsuke from the Estate of His Royal Highness The Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, KG.,KT.,KP, which included the work Unknown by Nishikawa Sukenobu. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,756.66), 71% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nishikawa Sukenobu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Twelve erotic scenes of courtesans and clients in September 2000 with an auction result of USD 25,850.00 (€ 29,252.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 71 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion JapaneseArt and Design Including Netsuke from the Estate of His Royal Highness The Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, KG.,KT.,KP durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Nishikawa Sukenobu zur Versteigerung kam.
