It achieved a price of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,351.36), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Niccolo Cannicci have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ritorno dall'aratura in November 2002 with an auction result of EUR 32,240.00.

Die Arbeit A mother and son by an olive grove before the sea von Niccolo Cannicci wurde im Januar 2008 in der Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.351,36) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Niccolo Cannicci auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ritorno dall'aratura im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 32.240,00.
