In July 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper, which included the work Venus, With Sea Nymphs And Tritons by Nicolas-René Jollain. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,674.15), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicolas-René Jollain - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Danaë, which sold at auction in January 2017 for USD 125,000.00 (€ 115,805.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venus, With Sea Nymphs And Tritons von Nicolas-René Jollain zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.674,15) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Nicolas-René Jollain mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Danaë beobachtet, die im Januar 2017 für USD 125.000,00 (€ 115.805,08) versteigert wurde.
