In December 2002 Christies in London held the auction Important Gold Boxes, Objects of Vertu and Portrait, which included the work Melanie Le Doulceur, facing right in white silk dress with purple silk surcoat with ruffled border, white gauze scarf tied around her neck, elaborate lace and green ribbon headgear in her powdered upswept hair by Niklas Lafrensen II. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,987.50 (€ 4,585.96), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Niklas Lafrensen II - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Les Harmonies De La Nature, which sold at auction in January 2013 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,042.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Important Gold Boxes, Objects of Vertu and Portrait durch, in der auch die Arbeit Melanie Le Doulceur, facing right in white silk dress with purple silk surcoat with ruffled border, white gauze scarf tied around her neck, elaborate lace and green ribbon headgear in her powdered upswept hair von Niklas Lafrensen II zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.987,50 (€ 4.585,96) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Niklas Lafrensen II mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Les Harmonies De La Nature beobachtet, die im Januar 2013 für USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.042,40) versteigert wurde.
