Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection, which included the work Portrait of King Gustav IV of Sweden (1778-1837), circa 1795 by Niklas Lafrensen II. The price achieved of GBP 1,008.00 (€ 1,126.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Niklas Lafrensen II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Les Harmonies De La Nature in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,042.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of King Gustav IV of Sweden (1778-1837), circa 1795 von Niklas Lafrensen II zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.008,00 (€ 1.126,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Niklas Lafrensen II auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Les Harmonies De La Nature im Januar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.042,40).
