The work A lady reclining beneath a tree by Nicolas François Octave Tassaert was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction at Christies in London in August 2000. The price achieved of GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,921.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas François Octave Tassaert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Suzanne Et Les Vieillards in June 2010 with an auction result of EUR 120,750.00.
