Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Great Flood by Nicolas Chaperon was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,204.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Nicolas Chaperon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venus, Mercury and Cupid ('The School of Love') in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 192,000.00 (€ 147,137.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Great Flood von Nicolas Chaperon kam im Juli 2009 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.204,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicolas Chaperon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venus, Mercury and Cupid ('The School of Love') im Januar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 192.000,00 (€ 147.137,71).
