Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Nicola Casissa could be acquired at Sothebys in London in April 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Paintings auction, the work An Outdoor Still Life With Birds Beside An Ornate Sculpted Fountain changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,063.04) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Other works by Nicola Casissa have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2012 by the work An Elaborate Still Life With A Fountain And Classical Statues, Flowers In A Vase, A Parrot And Various Fruits Spilt From An Upturned Bowl, All In An Elegant Park Setting at GBP 15,000.00 (€ 19,105.97).
