Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Niccolò Vicentino could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work The Death of Ajax changed hands for GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,115.42) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Niccolò Vicentino have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saints Peter and John in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,855.98).
