This artwork by Niccolò Di Segna achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2017. In the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work The Madonna and Child sold for USD 60,000.00 (€ 55,071.13) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Niccolò Di Segna; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Kreuzigungsszene. 1325–30. sold at auction in September 2017 with the realized price of CHF 96,500.00 (€ 84,320.07).
