Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2019 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Prints, which included the work Portrait of Baccio Bandinelli by Nicolò della Casa. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000 - 5,000, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250 (€ 3,841) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicolò della Casa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work , which sold at auction in December 2009 for EUR 8,540.
