Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of EUR 6,875.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicola Van Houbraken - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A ceramic vase with roses, hortensias and other flowers in a clay pot on a stone ledge (one of a series of months), which sold at auction in May 2005 for USD 33,600.00 (€ 27,208.68).
