Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A vanity box including a mirror and vanity drawer, with two hair brushes, a jewelry box and a powder box by Nguyen Quang Bao was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 18,900.00 (€ 2,053.03). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nguyen Quang Bao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Vietnamese Landscape, which sold at auction in April 2018 for HKD 62,500.00 (€ 6,594.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A vanity box including a mirror and vanity drawer, with two hair brushes, a jewelry box and a powder box von Nguyen Quang Bao im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 18.900,00 (€ 2.053,03) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Nguyen Quang Bao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Vietnamese Landscape beobachtet, die im April 2018 für HKD 62.500,00 (€ 6.594,75) versteigert wurde.
