Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work A pair of portraits: 1. Boy in a striped jumper 2. Girl wearing a pink shirt by Neville Lewis for GBP 828.75 (€ 961.29). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Neville Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a young girl, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,825.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A pair of portraits: 1. Boy in a striped jumper 2. Girl wearing a pink shirt von Neville Lewis für GBP 828,75 (€ 961,29) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Neville Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of a young girl beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.825,41) versteigert wurde.
