In the Home & Interiors Collections auction, the work Gathering sticks in the forest of Fontainebleu 16 3/4 x 24 3/4in (42.6 x 62.9cm) changed hands for USD 2,560.00 (€ 2,346.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Narcisse Virgile Diaz de la Peña achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Old Windmill near Barbizon in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 176,227.08).
