In March this year Bonhams held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Gathering wild flowers by Myles Birket Foster. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 31,800.00 (€ 36,178.64), 59% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Myles Birket Foster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Meet in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 240,250.00 (€ 382,313.43).

Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gathering wild flowers von Myles Birket Foster zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 31.800,00 (€ 36.178,64) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Myles Birket Foster erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Meet im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 240.250,00 (€ 382.313,43).
