Auction result well in line with expectations
The work At the ford by Myles Birket Foster was sold in the British and European Art: Online auction at Christies in London in December last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 20,160.00 (€ 22,758.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Myles Birket Foster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Meet in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 240,250.00 (€ 382,313.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit At the ford von Myles Birket Foster wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art: Online bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 20.160,00 (€ 22.758,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Myles Birket Foster erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Meet im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 240.250,00 (€ 382.313,43).
