Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Tsuikai Munakata hanga Tokaido myotai byobu (Additions on Munakata prints: the grandiose beauty of Tokaido) by Munakata Shiko was auctioned at Christies in New York in March last year. It achieved a price of USD 81,900.00 (€ 73,830.34), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Other works by Munakata Shiko have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 70,500.00 (€ 81,090.41) in November 2000 for the work Hakki-hi (White-skinned goddess).

Die Arbeit Tsuikai Munakata hanga Tokaido myotai byobu (Additions on Munakata prints: the grandiose beauty of Tokaido) von Munakata Shiko kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 73.830,34) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Andere Arbeiten von Munakata Shiko haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.500,00 (€ 81.090,41) im November 2000 für die Arbeit Hakki-hi (White-skinned goddess) beobachtet.
