Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Showa era (1926-1989) by Munakata Shiko was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 637.50 (€ 544.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Munakata Shiko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hakki-hi (White-skinned goddess) in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 70,500.00 (€ 81,090.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Showa era (1926-1989) von Munakata Shiko im September 2020 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 637,50 (€ 544,03) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Munakata Shiko erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hakki-hi (White-skinned goddess) im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.500,00 (€ 81.090,41).
