In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art Online, which included the work Five Owls by Munakata Shiko. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,970.41), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Munakata Shiko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hakki-hi (White-skinned goddess) in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 70,500.00 (€ 81,090.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Five Owls von Munakata Shiko zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.970,41) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Munakata Shiko erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hakki-hi (White-skinned goddess) im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.500,00 (€ 81.090,41).
