The work BEAUTY by Munakata Shiko was sold in the Fine Japanese Art auction at Sothebys in London in May 2020. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,110.11), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Munakata Shiko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hakki-hi (White-skinned goddess) in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 70,500.00 (€ 81,090.41).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit BEAUTY von Munakata Shiko wurde im Mai 2020 in der Auktion Fine Japanese Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.110,11) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Munakata Shiko erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hakki-hi (White-skinned goddess) im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.500,00 (€ 81.090,41).
