This drawing was done for Rodney Hilton Brown in Boston following a charity boxing match to raise funds for the Elma Lewis School of Fine Arts, January 30, 1977. This painting shows what Ali referred to as the "Tree of Life" with the sun setting behind it. Note that the tree is drawn without leaves on it.

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Muhammad Ali could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the TCM Presents ... It's a Knockout! auction, the work Sunset with Tree of Life, 1977 changed hands for USD 9,562.50 (€ 8,277.79) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Muhammad Ali achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sting Like A Bee, 1978 in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 425,312.50 (€ 368,172.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Muhammad Ali konnte im Oktober 2021 bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion TCM Presents ... It's a Knockout! wechselte die Arbeit Sunset with Tree of Life, 1977 für USD 9.562,50 (€ 8.277,79) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Muhammad Ali erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sting Like A Bee, 1978 im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 425.312,50 (€ 368.172,18).
