Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Machinery by Mounir Fatmi was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish ArtPart I auction at Christies in Dubai in October 2011. The price achieved of USD 92,500.00 (€ 66,322.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mounir Fatmi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sonia Sonia Sonia, which sold at auction in April 2013 for USD 233,000.00 (€ 176,944.11).
