Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Evolution ou la mort by Mounir Fatmi was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art auction at Christies in Dubai in April 2011. It changed hands for a price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 11,807.57) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mounir Fatmi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sonia Sonia Sonia in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 233,000.00 (€ 176,944.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Evolution ou la mort von Mounir Fatmi wurde im April 2011 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art bei Christies in Dubai versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 11.807,57) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mounir Fatmi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sonia Sonia Sonia im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 233.000,00 (€ 176.944,11).
