Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Prodigal Son by Moses Haughton was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in April 2008. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,593.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Moses Haughton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of George Farmer of Witton Manor, Staffordshire, full-length, with his dogs, in a landscape in December 2006 with an auction result of USD 38,400.00 (€ 29,097.52).
