Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Morland Lewis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in July last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Quay Approach sold for GBP 2,932.50 (€ 3,501.93) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Morland Lewis; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Figures in a street; and Seaside cottages sold at auction in July 2005 with the realized price of GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,525.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Morland Lewis erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Quay Approach für GBP 2.932,50 (€ 3.501,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Morland Lewis; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Figures in a street; and Seaside cottages im Juli 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.525,53).
