Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale, which included the work Cosmonaut by Monsengo Shula. The price achieved of GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,613.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Monsengo Shula have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The dancers in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 10,062.00 (€ 11,678.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cosmonaut von Monsengo Shula zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.613,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Monsengo Shula auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The dancers im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.062,00 (€ 11.678,66).
