Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Monk Minggang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Five-character Poem in Cursive Script Calligraphy sold for HKD 150,000.00 (€ 13,418.20) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Monk Minggang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cursive Script Calligraphy in November 2017 with an auction result of HKD 1,187,500.00 (€ 127,852.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Monk Minggang erzielte im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Five-character Poem in Cursive Script Calligraphy für HKD 150.000,00 (€ 13.418,20) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Monk Minggang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cursive Script Calligraphy im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.187.500,00 (€ 127.852,37).
