A top price for Michiel Maddersteg - as previously expected
In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Pictures, which included the work Hannibal fighting the Romans by Michiel Maddersteg. The price achieved of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,693.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Hannibal fighting the Romans is the most expensive artwork by Michiel Maddersteg that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hannibal fighting the Romans von Michiel Maddersteg zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.693,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Hannibal fighting the Romans das teuerste Kunstwerk von Michiel Maddersteg, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
