Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A portrait of a young noble by Michele Gordigiani was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,020.00 (€ 950.52). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michele Gordigiani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italian Portrait Of Nadezhda Mikhailovna Polovtsova, 1869 in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 16,058.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A portrait of a young noble von Michele Gordigiani im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.020,00 (€ 950,52) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michele Gordigiani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Italian Portrait Of Nadezhda Mikhailovna Polovtsova, 1869 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 16.058,58).
